Mission Program and Activities

We are excited to share the incredible impact of the Mbeere Mega Mission, which was hosted by The Rt. Rev. Dr. Moses Masamba, the Bishop of Mbeere Diocese, from June 27th to July 2nd. This momentous event brought together the Anglican Church of Uganda and the Anglican Church of Kenya, with representatives from various regions within the Anglican Church of Kenya, including Tsavo, Central, Naika, Rivard, Western, and Nyanza. The mission attracted a diverse range of missioners, including Bishops, senior clergy, clergy, retired clergy, and laity, all united in their passion for spreading the Gospel.

The Mbeere Mega Mission witnessed the active participation of new Dioceses such as Embu, Meru, Kirinyaga, Machakos, and Nairobi, as well as the CITAM church. We were especially blessed to have the presence of the Rt. Rev. Ruben Katite, the Malindi Diocesan Bishop, who led various mission activities during the week. In total, we are grateful to God for the participation of 383 evangelists drawn from 14 Dioceses within the Province of Kenya, 3 Dioceses from the Province of Uganda, CITAM church, and the dedicated staff of AMA.

The mission reached various archdeaconries and 72 parishes, touching the lives of many individuals and communities. Throughout the week, a wide range of activities were organized to bring the message of Christ’s love and salvation to all. These activities included:

  1. Door-to-door evangelism: Missioners ventured into neighborhoods, knocking on doors, and engaging with individuals and families to share the Good News and offer prayer and support.
  2. Open air evangelism: In public spaces and gatherings, missioners boldly proclaimed the Gospel, attracting crowds and sowing seeds of faith in the hearts of many.
  3. Revivals: Spirit-filled events were held, stirring hearts and inspiring individuals to recommit themselves to their faith and experience spiritual renewal.
  4. Morning devotions: Missioners gathered each morning to seek God’s guidance, pray, and meditate on His Word before venturing out into the day’s activities.
  5. Baptisms: Through the sacrament of baptism, new believers publicly declared their faith and commitment to following Christ.
  6. Business Community Outreach: Recognizing the importance of holistic transformation, missioners engaged with the business community, offering support, counseling, and prayer for their endeavors.
  7. Night vigil prayers: Vigils were held, providing an opportunity for prayer, worship, and seeking God’s presence in a dedicated time of spiritual intimacy.
  8. Sunday celebration: The mission culminated in a joyous 26th anniversary celebration, bringing together missioners and the local community to worship and give thanks for the transformational work of 26 years since the diocese was established.
