In a significant stride towards advancing theological education, Anglican Missions Africa (AMA) entered into a strategic partnership with Africa International University (AIU). The formalization of this collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Friday, November 17th, 2023, as Canon Rev. Richard Mayabi, Executive Director of Missions Anglicanes Afrique, and Captain Patrick F. Jehl, International Director of Missions Anglicanes Afrique, visited AIU’s Ag. Vice Chancellor Prof. Joseph Kiplang’at.

The core objective of this collaboration is to elevate theological training standards across Africa and beyond. The MOU outlines plans for establishing training centers that will offer both online and physical classes. Notably, the partnership will focus on delivering the following course:

  1. A Certificate in Healthy Church Training and Capacity Building.

This was designed as a mission practical course for Evangelists and Catechists/Lay Readers which seeks to equip them at the local church level with essential skills and knowledge to effectively propagate sound doctrine and uphold the teachings of Christ.

Rev. Canon Capt. Richard Mayabi, the Executive Director of AMA, brings a personal connection to this partnership, being an alumnus of AIU himself. Having previously served as the AIU Alumni Association Chairman and in the University Council of AIU, his involvement underscores the deep-rooted commitment and understanding that AMA has towards the shared mission of theological education and empowerment of pastors. Through this collaboration, both institutions aspire to contribute significantly to the work of Christ by empowering pastors to engage in sound theological practices, thereby fostering a stronger and healthier church community
